Welcome to Folklor!
To us, wine is all about community. About sharing stories over a full glass and a full plate. Some of our best memories are of times spent around a table, sharing drinks and meals and swapping stories with our families, our friends and sometimes total strangers. These sometimes totally ordinary oral histories shape our lives and our relationships and we think they’re worth celebrating.
We also wanted to play homage to Iza’s Polish roots and the spirit of Polish folk art that features bright colors and natural elements.
In Polish "folklor" is also a little bit of a backhanded joke Iza translates to "country drama." A goat riding shotgun in a drop top - folklor! Your neighbor mowing the lawn in tighty whities - folklor! We try not to take ourselves too seriously and you better believe we'll be getting into some country shenanigans.
We had the good fortune to work with the talented and creative Egan Franks Holzhausen on our logo and future wine labels! Egan received a BFA at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a MFA from Kendall College of Art and Design. Egan is an artist and studio arts instructor living in Northern Michigan with her dog and spouse. We are so grateful that she captured our vision!
