Wine tasting in Charlevoix

Charlevoix may not have an official wine trail, but with interesting soils, multiple new vineyard plantings and a long history of fruit farming, Charlevoix is a burgeoning area for Michigan wine and cider. Here’s how to spend a day tasting wine and cider within 20 miles of Charlevoix.

Visitors to Folklor Wine & Cider get an exclusive tour of their organically-farmed vineyards and orchards.

Hard cider now available at King Orchards

4620 N-M88, Central Lake, MI

King Orchards is many locals’ and visitors’ go-to for apples, cherries, peaches, veggies, and baked goods. And they’re now serving hard cider at their M-88 location made with apples grown at their orchards! A visit to their u-pick and a glass of cider sounds like a perfect afternoon.

Enjoy crisp white wines at WaterFire Vineyards

12180 Sutter Road, Kewadin, MI

WaterFire is one of Michigan’s most environmentally-conscious grape growers, and one of the most underrated wineries in the state. Their white wines, sustainable farming and delicious ciders inspired us to pursue farming and winemaking in this region. We highly recommend a visit to their cozy tasting room, nestled back along their vineyards in Antrim’s orchard country.

Cellar 1914 offers two unique locations

5833 Shooks Rd Central Lake, MI

101 Main St. Suite A. East Jordan, MI

The Shooks Family have been farming in the area for over 100 years and have been growing wine grapes since 2016. Their flagship tasting room and production facility is located on their family cherry farm, while the new East Jordan tasting room is located on the waterfront right downtown. Both locations serve their estate-grown wines.
